SUMMARY

    Over 25 years of experience in the construction industry, with an emphasis on project management, estimating, value engineering, design-build, and fast-track projects. As President of P. J. Dick, directed field operations, construction management services, design-build services, pre-construction services, estimating and project management activities of the Pittsburgh headquarters and regional offices. Initiated and actively managed the development of two new business units, Facilities Solutions Group, LLC, and Computer Assisted Facilities Management (CAFM). Responsible for the placement of over $300 million of construction contracts per year for the last 3 years. Initiated the search and subsequent opening of P. J. Dick's regional office in Washington, DC, which had under contract in excess of $120 million in eighteen months.

    FSG received contracts for program management, CAFM services and actual hard dollar bids. This organization required cleared employees as much of the work called for security clearances from the Department of Defense.

    Actively involved in the development of corporate marketing strategies and business plans for all business units, as well as developing and maintaining client relationships.

    USP Hazelton - Hazelton, West Virginia

    Contract Amount: $134 million
    Type: Design-Build
    An 888-cell high-security men's facility, and a 120-bed adjacent minimum-security prison camp, UNICOR factory, and administrative buildings, constructed on a 1,036-acre site east of Morgantown, West Virginia.

    Harpers Ferry, West Virginia


    Contract Amount: $20 million
    Type: Design-Build
    Construction of a nine-building advanced training center featuring state-of-the-art indoor and outdoor firing ranges, tactical and classroom training spaces, as well as administrative and meeting areas. The site required extensive excavation and preparation to provide for building construction within a secluded campus setting.

  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Humphreys Eng. Center
    Ft. Belvoir, Virginia

    Contract Amount: $25 million
    Type: General Construction
    Construction of a 130,000 sq. ft. multi-purpose Sensitive Compartment Information Facility (SCIF) and certified operations building. The building was both a two-story and a one-story steel-framed structure, and included security and information systems. Also included were site improvements and a parking facility to support the new building.

    Suitland, Maryland

    Contract Amount: $51 million
    Type: General Construction
    General construction of a 208,271 sq. ft. GSF facility to house the National Environmental Satellite, Data and Information Service (NESDIS) Satellite Operations and Data Processing Centers. The design consisted of two main components, a slender three-story tower with an antenna to house the satellite operations and computer center, and a high-tech office built on an existing slope. The complex houses high-technology equipment to control over $3 billion of environmental satellites.

    Contract Amount: $148 million
    Type: Design-Build
    An 864-cell high-security facility, and a 1280-bed minimum-security prison camp constructed on 345 acres at a remote mountainous site. The project included administrative buildings, an industrial facility and a central utility plant.

    A new medical facility that consisted of a five-story, 162,000 sq. ft. ambulatory center wing; a three-story, 178,000 sq. ft. research facility wing; a multi-story atrium connecting the two wings; a one-level underground parking garage; a new pedestrian bridge, and a central plant expansion.

    Design-build construction of a 100,000 sq. ft. professional office building over an existing garage. This building was connected to the new Hillman Cancer Center by a covered steel pedestrian bridge.

    Construction management services with a GMP for the renovation to 40,000 sq. ft. of existing labs, mechanical rooms and offices along with a ten-story addition that tied into the existing eight-story building.

    Construction management and pre-construction services for renovations and additions to elementary, middle and high school buildings, and a new athletic facility. In addition to the ongoing construction management work, a feasibility study for the District's future plans was also completed by P. J. Dick and provided pre-construction services for that program.

    Construction management services for a 72,000 sq. ft. elementary school that shares a site with an existing operating elementary school. The scope of work also included asbestos abatement and demolition of the existing building once construction was completed.

    After completing a feasibility study for the school district, P. J. Dick was selected to provide construction management services to oversee and manage the construction of their Phase I renovation program, including a new elementary school and administration building, and expansion of the middle school.
